CCTV

"I went along with Kevin Tyrrell our CCTV Technical Manager for a routine maintenance check up on the recently upgraded CCTV system at Clifton Suspension Bridge. 

I was amazed to see how smartly put together the system was and how Kevin found it so easy being up so high on the ladder at such a great height! I found it quite unnerving to be honest and held onto the railings whilst walking across. Huge respect to all the Select engineers who brave it regularly climbing up the tall towers and in using the elevated platforms when servicing and maintaining the 33 bespoke smart camera system for the bridge. 

The system was recently upgraded to a HIK Central control platform which allows more dedicated responses to alarms and for protection of the general public. They have also benefited from improved picture quality and higher frame rate and retention periods. 

Select have been working closely with the bridge masters and support team at the visitor centre for several years now and it was really great to see such a productive and professional relationship in action!
