In 2025 the government has promised the UK will be 100% gigabit capable (Full Fibre Connected and/or Ready) and the outdated copper technology will soon be obsolete. What is Full Fibre/Gigabit Capable Broadband?

Full Fibre connectivity has received some bad press as the general view has been its an expensive service and only tech hungry companies or corporate giants can afford the premium service. What is the difference between FTTC (Fibre to the cabinet) and FTTP (Fibre to the premises)
Full Fibre or FTTP is when the fibre optic cables are taken directly from the local exchange - to your nearest cabinet - then it's fed to your actual business premises. This is achieved by digging a small trench externally to feed the cables into the actual building. Don't worry! its not as messy or disruptive as it may seem. The Full Fibre roll out looks to minimise any disruption or prolonged digs by taking time to effectively plan the installation during the network design phase once you have signed up. Full Fibre guarantees you a reliable superfast connection which enables you to be a gigabit capable business. Meaning, depending on your business connectivity needs at any point you can simply upgrade to as much as 10Gig with no need for additional works to be carried out.
